Feeders should be easy to clean and fill. There are several tools and supplies available to help you clean them. You will want to have a rag, a bottlebrush and a toothbrush on hand for cleaning your blown glass hummingbird feeders.
If you are diligent about changing the nectar regularly every few days (or every few hours in warm weather) and rinsing the feeder with warm water each time you refill it with fresh nectar, you will help to keep it free of bacteria and mold. A little regular maintenance will go a long way.
